April OPTIONS FOR high schoolers

Below are additional age-level activities for students in high school. Please note we ask each high schooler to do 1 activity each month - either 1 family activity or 1 age-level appropriate activity.

Please note that this month is also the month that all students are asked to complete the Called to Protect for Youth (CTPY) program, an annual requirement for all parishes in the Diocese of Austin.
We ask all high school families (9th-12th) to submit the CTPY worksheets as one of the family activities for this month.  Please read Option 1 below for more information.
How to pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy: How To Pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy | USCCB
Optional Opening Prayers:
You expired, Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls,
and the ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world.
O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy,
envelop the whole world and empty Yourself out upon us.

(Repeat 3 times) O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

Our Father, Hail Mary and the Apostle's Creed

For each of the five decades (On each “Our Father” bead of the rosary, pray)

Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

(On each of the 10 “Hail Mary” beads, pray)
For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Concluding prayer (Repeat 3 times)
Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Optional Closing Prayer
Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself.
Option 1: Called to Protect for Youth: 9th through 12th grades

The Diocese of Austin has reformatted the CTPY program for the needs of this at-home year. The high school-level lessons (9th-12th) have been combined to be one 3-part program that parents can complete with all their high school students at one time. The teaching is through an audio presentation which includes topic discussions and student activity sheets.  You can complete the program by clicking this link: www.austindiocese.org/parent and follow the instructions to complete at-home.

The program should take roughly an hour to an hour and 15 minutes to complete.  Please take advantage of this program to educate your child(ren) on healthy boundaries, appropriate relationships and being safe.  Note: We are happy to print out the worksheets for you, if you would like. Just email and let us know.

If you choose not to complete the program, please return the CTPY Waiver form below.

Homework: Please email the worksheets or the waiver form to livia.telles-rodriguez@stcatherine-austin.org for each child.
