How do we do the homework for Family Faith Formation, GenFaith and Tuesday weekly RE classes?
(STEP 1: Do Lessons at Home or in a Kids' Small Christian Community (KSCC)
Work through the Be My Disciples textbook with your child(ren) either at home or in a KSCC. Most families feel that aiming for one chapter a week is the right pace. You'll start the homework after each session. (For example, begin working on Unit 1 after your family's September session.) KSCCs meet at different times and days.
For 1st - 6th Grades:
This is the homework schedule:
September: Unit 1 Chps 1, 2, 3, 4 (turn in at October sessions)
October: Unit 2 Chps, 5, 6, 7, 8 (turn in at November sessions)
November: Unit 3 Chps 9, 10, 11, 12 (turn in at January sessions)
December - turn in your Family Advent Project by January 7
January: Unit 4 Chps 13, 14, 15, 16 (turn in at February sessions)
February: Unit 5 Chps 17, 18, 19, 20 (turn in at April sessions)
March - turn in your Family Lent to Easter Project by April 25
April: Unit 6 Chps 21, 22, 23, 24 (turn in at May closing)
STEP 2: Submit Children’s Homework (1st - 6th grades)
Students in grades 1 to 6 have two different ways to turn in their homework - by paper or online. Only ONE method is required. Choose the option that works best for you!
Option 1:Paper homework: After completing a chapter, tear out the last page at the end of each chapter and turn it in at the monthly sessions. This page is usually labeled "Chapter Review." Please make sure the child's name is on the page. (7th, 8th, high school and confirmation students - please see the instructions on the sub pages. Links are above.)
Option 2: Online homework:
STEP 3: Submit Parent's Homework
Parent's have monthly homework, too! Parents are asked to complete the "Parent Questions" pages that are in your family folder. There is a set of pages for each month. Bring the last page from the set for each month into the sessions and place it in the Homework Basket on the sign-in table.
