1. Section 6 begins by talking about "the laity," meaning everyone except priests and religious. It says that the principle job of the laity is to direct the affairs of the temporal world according to the will of God. In fact, we have a special vocation: to make the Church present and fruitful in those places and circumstances where it is only through them that she can become the salt of the earth” (ibid., 33). Do you consider the will of God when you are conducting your "temporal affairs?" *

2. Pope Francis writes that every baptized person has a "missionary commitment." He lists prayer, ongoing study and direct participation in the life of the community as being necessary to grow in integrity, responsibility and discipleship.
