September Adult HOmework
This year, we will be exploring more what it means to be a catechist by first examining how we ourselves received our faith. As parents, we are the "first, best and irreplaceable" catechists for our children. It is always a good idea to reflect on what and why we believe. The September Podcast guides parents through this process.
As we think more about our own faith and call to be catechists, we will also slowly unpack Pope Francis' Apostolic Letter "Antiquum Ministerium," in which he formally establishes the Ministry of the Catechist. Although catechesis has been happening since the beginning of the Church, it has never been officially recognized as a valid ministry which participates in the life of the Trinity. Pope Francis has changed this on May 10, 2021, by issuing this letter and establishing this ministry.
Parents in the At Home program, please submit questions for BOTH the podcast and the reading.
Parents who attend Session A or B are asked to submit the reading questions.
