October Projects for families and students
There are 3 different options families can choose from to do together this month. These activities are in addition to the monthly at-home work in the workbooks.
Family OPtions

Option 1:
Pray together at your Family Prayer Space
October is the Month of the Rosary. In fact, we honor Mary under the title "Our Lady of the Rosary" on October 7. Gather around your Family's Prayer Space and pray the rosary together. There are resources to help you pray posted below. Set a family goal of praying the rosary together at least 4 times this month, to pray each of the sets of Mysteries.
Homework: Send a photo of the World Mission rosary, colored in, that your family used in prayer this month around your Family Prayer Space to [email protected].

Option 2
Watch on FORMED
Francis: the Knight of Assisi OR St. Francis of Assisi: His Life and Miracles
Families can choose a video to watch for an activity this month, depending on the age of their children. "Francis: the Knight of Assisi" is a 30 minute animated video that gives an overview of the calling and life of St. Francis of Assisi. It is appropriate for PreK to 6th grade. The second video, "St. Francis of Assisi: His Life and Works", is a docu-drama about St. Francis and his life, based on the writings of Brother Thomas Celano, a close friend of St. Francis.
We celebrate the life of this popular saint on October 4. You will need to log into your account on FORMED in order to watch either video.
Homework: To submit watching one video as one of your activities for October, fill out the form below.

Option 3: Match the Doctors
We receive our faith from people who have gone before us, such as holy family members and the saints.
The Catholic Church declares some saints "Doctors of the Church." A "Doctor of the Church" is a saint whose spirituality was considered so unique and profound that it marked a new pathway to God. Catholics are encouraged to learn about the prayer life and disciplines of these men and women, and possibly try some of them on ourselves.
How many Doctors of the Church can you name? Print out the worksheet below and see how many you can recognize as a family. (Don't worry, an answer sheet is provided!)
Finally, choose one or two Doctors of the Church to learn more about and foster a special devotion to this year.
